Acne light treatment, also known as light therapy or Clearlight Blue is the newest addition to the line of long-term treatments for acne on the market. This therapy is thought to be the hope for acne patients who have little or no success with all other forms of treatment available. The blue light therapy kill bacteria that cause most cases of acne. P. acnes generates small molecules called porphyrins that help in the production of bacteria, which in turn causes acne inflammation. These porphyrins are the main target of blue light therapy.
