What is a good tree to replace old willow trees die?

I have 3 older half dead willows removed because their branches are dead threaten the electric district line. What is not good too tall trees can live under the same conditions? The neighbors told me that the previous owner tried many trees as river birch, and all died, until the willows. I'm replacing because they are gross and dead, is not due to complaints. No neighbors close to them, only the power lines that feed my house, too. Replace it with anything that has to be able to live in damp, but not so tall.

Well, you're bound to have plenty of opinions, here is mine. You could try Serviceberry (Amelanchier, Juneberry) is an understory tree growing in the larger trees, especially along river banks. I agree with the answerer of the other also, dogwood (Cornus) is also a good option. I know this is perhaps the most popular tree, but pussywillow (Salix caprea) will be less than the premium crying and resistant and tolerant of wet conditions.
